All About Me
I was born in Fremont, CA on November 23, 1968. I have two twin brothers, one sister and a younger brother, all of whom live out of this state and one out of this country!
I grew up in California, attending Mission San Jose High School from 1982-1986.
From 1986-1990 I attended Whitman College, where I met my husband, Dave Clearman. I graduated in 1990 with a B.A in Art History, and a double minor in History and English
In 1990, I moved to Seattle and worked at the Seattle Art Museum until 1993, when I attended Seattle Pacific University to get my teaching credentials. I graduated in 1994 with an Elementary Endorsement (K-8) and a High School Endorsement in English
I taught 5th grade at St. Mary Magdalene from 1995-1996
I taught a group of orthodox Jewish boys from 1996-1997 at the Chabad Cheder in Seattle, WA
In the summer of 1997 my husband and I moved to California, where I taught a combination 4th/5th grade class for five years, and he taught 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies. I was also in charge of the Gifted and Talented Education program.
Eight years ago we moved to Walla Walla to help take care of my grandparents, Dr. Bob Thomsen and Ruth Thomsen; my grandmother has since passed away.
My grandfather recently remarried, at the age of 96! His new wife, Juanita, is a spry 91 year old.
My husband currently teaches a 4th/5th grade combination class at Vista Hermosa Elementary.
My son Jakob was born on January 7, 2005.
My son Benjamin was born June 16, 2008.
