This course of social studies concentrates on American history with the incorporation of geography, government, and current events.  Each of the following units incorporates a mix of reading strategies, vocabulary development, geographical places, culture, and current issues to give the students a sense of why we study the peoples and places of our past.

-Different Worlds Meet (Beginnings to 1625)

-Colonial Settlement (1587-1770)

-Creating a Nation (1763-1791)

-The New Republic (1789-1825)

-The Growing Nation (1820-1860)

-Civil War and Reconstruction (1846-1896)
