     The library is a wonderful place for your child to find books and resources that they will need throughout the school year. Our library offers:

 An electronic card catalog  (search by subject, title, keyword, author and more!)

bullet

Electronic databases for magazine article searches

bullet

Contests such as: Sasquatch and Young Reader's Choice and Washington Children's Choice

bullet

A reference collection with both print and electronic sources

bullet

Magazines

bullet

A computer lab for projects

* Best of All ... thousands of books! Ranging from beginning reader to non-fiction on MANY topics (Accelerated Reader TM books abound!)

Our library hosts special events, and book fairs. Be watching your school newsletter for additional details.

Volunteers are needed! Shelving books, assisting students with checkout, technology projects, processing new materials, book fairs and more!

Any amount of time, any day, would be Greatly appreciated!

 

Checkout Policy:

Pre-School Kindergarteners: May borrow (2) books
when accompanied by parent or guardian
 * May vary by class
1st Graders:  May borrow (1) book to begin the school year and (2) books later on
2nd Graders: May borrow (2) books
3rd - 5th Graders: May borrow (3) books

Parents are welcome to check out books.

General Information

Materials may be borrowed for ONE week

bullet

Return all materials to the TURN-IN CART

bullet

Avoid having OVERDUE materials as a courtesy to other readers

bullet

Keep books in a SAFE PLACE (clean, dry, treat with care)

bullet

Remember: babies and puppies may accidentally damage books

bullet

Students with overdue materials may have checkout privileges suspended

bullet

Damage/lost material need to be paid for by the borrower's family

bullet

Lost materials/books must be paid for or found prior to the last week of school. If not, students may not be eligible for special school sponsored activities and report cards will be held.

REFUNDS are provided for items that are later located

 

After your child has come to the library class:

Ask your child which story they heard.

bullet

Which "Children's Choice" contest nominee is their current favorite? (Grades K-3)

bullet

What resource or skill did they learn about?

bullet

Who is their favorite author?

bullet

What books did they check out? Have your children read/share them with you.

bullet

Is their class currently working on a research project?

bullet

Help students develop excellent book care habits.
