Green Park Elementary School Part of the Walla Walla School District 140
Green Park Partnership Plan
Research has shown that there is no silver bullet, no single thing that can be done to ensure student success. We do know that the education of children is a team effort between the parents, teachers and the children themselves. We have high standards and expectations of our students and ourselves and believe that all students can learn.
Our staff at Green Park spent some time last
year studying characteristics of high performing schools and have incorporated
them into the agreements below. We present them to you here in your parent
handbook in the hopes that they will become our "team's" clear and shared focus.
Please take a few minutes to read them with your children. Always try my-hardest. Always try to do my best Read 20 minutes at home each day. Take good care of any schoolbooks. Be respectful and listen to my teachers. Be respectful of other students.
Take notes home to my parents and bring notes
back to my teacher. Do my homework and turn it in when it is due. Try to limit my child's TV, video and computer to 7 hours a week. Encourage other learning activities such as reading, puzzles, games, etc. See that my child attends school regularly and on time. Make sure that my child gets enough sleep every night. Talk to my child about activities that happened at school each day. Read or listen to my child read something every day. Establish a set schedule for reading and doing homework. Be positive with my child every day. As As a teacher I agree to: Respect children and help them reach their academic potential. Provide a supportive learning environment to every student. Communicate with parents, students and fellow teachers through meetings, phone calls, letters sent home and/or conferences. Involve parents in setting up academic goals for their child and encourage parents to help their children at home to reach these goals. Work as a team with parents to make sure each child has a successful experience in school.
