Pioneer Middle School believes competitive sports are an integral part of the school program. It attempts to provide an opportunity for all students to participate in some form of competitive athletics. A wide variety of athletic activities are offered throughout the school year. The staff and administration encourage students to participate, if at all possible, in at least one athletic program each year. Students in 7th and 8th grades must meet the Walla Walla Middle School eligibility requirements.

General Information

All 6-8 grade students need to fill out sports packets that are available in our main office. A physical is required before they can participate in a sport.  A physician must complete the physical and sign/date the required district form.  Physicals are good for two years and will be kept on file at the school in the student's confidential health file.  It is recommended that appointments be made quite a bit ahead of time, as the local physicians are reporting a 2-3 month waiting period for appointments.

FEES (Fees may be paid in cash or by check made payable to Pioneer ASB. )

Students participating in a sport must pay a yearly ASB fee of $7.00. 

6th Grade Sports:  $15.00 fee per sport, plus the yearly ASB fee of $7.00.

7th/8th Grade Sports:  $15.00 fee per sport, plus the yearly ASB fee of $7.00.

Fall - Football, Boys/Girls' Cross Country, Girls' Volleyball
Winter I - Boys' Basketball
Winter II - Girls' Basketball, Wrestling
Spring - Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Track

SPORTS SEASONS FOR 6th GRADE STUDENTS

Fall - Girls' Volleyball
Winter I - Boys' Basketball
Winter II - Girls' Basketball, Wrestling
Spring - Track

Athletes’ may only ride home from an away game on the bus or with a legal guardian.
Travel release forms may be picked up in the main office.
All travel release forms must be signed by a legal guardian and given to your athlete’s coach prior to leaving Pioneer Middle School for an away game.
