Before becoming a teacher I worked as a field biologist in Olympic National Park and on fishing boats in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska. I also taught environmental education at The Environmental Learning Center in northern Minnesota and for the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry's Hancock Field Station in central Oregon. My fascination for science combined with my passion for teaching led me to become a teacher.
