What is C02 Racing? It's often described as Pinewood Derby on steriods! Small wooden cars speed down a track,
at high speeds, powered by escaping carbon dioxide. Students carve a piece of wood into a racecar body using hand or power tools. Paint, wheels, and axles are then added to finish the cars. A pair of cars are placed on a reacetrack, and CO2 cartridges are inserted into holes in the rear of each car. Cars are attached to a launching device that punctures the cartridges to start the race. The cars race down the track and cross the finish line often in just under one second!
