7th Grade Science with Mrs. Lawbaugh

• Because our science labs are hands-on, most work will be done in class. 

• All assignments must be properly headed with your complete (first and last) name, date, and X/X pd. Sci. Proper headings are worth 1 point.  Incomplete headings lose ½ point.

 

WRITTEN RESPONSES must be answered with complete sentences and complete thoughts! 

*Incomplete Responses = half credit!

 

NO “IT” RULE – Do not start your sentences with “It” or any other pronouns (he, she, they, etc.).  Always properly identify the noun before using “it” or you will lose ¼ credit.

Incorrect sentence:

It swam across the pond before it flew away.

 

Correct sentence:

The duck swam across the pond before it flew away.

• Neat penmanship is expected on all work.  If I can't read your work you will need to redo it and it will be considered late.

• Wrinkled and mangled papers are not acceptable.  You will be asked to redo them (and yes, it will be considered late!)

• Assignments that are not done according to the above specifications will be handed back to be redone on your own time.  These redone assignments will count as late work.

 

LATE WORK COUPONS- You will be issued two late work coupons per quarter.  They can be used to turn a late assignment in for full credit.  All other late assignments will be assigned 50%.  Unused coupons can be turned in at the end of the quarter for 3 extra credit points each.

 

EXTRA CREDIT may be offered periodically.  I only accept extra credit that I assign and it will not be accepted late.  No exceptions!  You can only earn extra credit if you have no missing work.  Again, no exceptions!
